My Week in Pictures

Another week has come.
And another week has gone.
I don't normally say this, but I am so happy this week is over.
It's been a long one and I am ready to start preparing for my 2nd trip to Colorado this summer .
I'm not flying this time.
I'm driving!
And I'm bringing this guy with me :)

We will only be gone a couple of days, but I'm already looking forward to seeing my family again!
And the 11-hour car drive to get there.
I planned on singing along to the radio the whole time.
But I have another book that's been edited and needing my attention.
Decisions, decisions.
My week began on a somewhat good note.
O.K. Kelly and Mom picked blueberries.
I ate them and held the bucket for them because I injured my back.
Not sure how, but I have been slowly improving, which is always a blessing in my book!
But to improve slowly than not at all.

I snapped this picture of a church near our house on Sunday morning while we were on our walk.
I love how the white steeple stands out against the black.
It was a great day spent with our church family.

This was my lunch on Monday.
I felt like I was 12 years old again, but I loved eating a Lunchable for lunch.
It was a good change from sandwiches, soups, and salads.

Monday night, I was sitting in my living room when the sun started shining through.
It was a perfect 'picture' moment.
Relaxing.
That's the only way to describe this moment in time.

I really love my dog.
I mean, I really love him.
He's my child.
There's no other way to describe our relationship.
I know his different whines.
He was whining at my mom and she kept asking him, "What?"
I hollered from the other room, "That's his 'chewy' whine."
An hour later, he whined at her again.
She told him she had already given him a chewy.
"That's his 'I want to go outside' whine," I explained.
She looked shocked.
Yes, I know my dog and his whines.
I think it's pretty cool, but what do I know.

This was a really neat picture I snapped of my mom.
She was getting ready to go for a walk when I told her to stand still.
Did I mention that her hair looked amazing?!
If only you could have seen it.

On Wednesday I decided I needed a break from the New Testament and began 1 Samuel.
It's been a long time since I've read this action-packed book in the Bible.

The same day, this random dog was laying in my front yard.
Just laying there.
Sort of like she belonged there.
I attempted to find her owners and even put her in my backyard for safe-keeping.
But she was so small she fit through the gate and ran off!
I really hope she found her way safely home.

My mom and I had a long conversation on Wednesday night about what God has been doing in my life.
He's teaching me patience, trust, and how prayer is more necessary than I realize.
But thankfully, He always reminds me that I am His.
My life is safe in His hands.

Niko is really enjoying his two walks a day.

This is how he spends his time in between.

How can anyone not love this face?!
Something really exciting that's been going on in my life over the last week is that I am teaching Creative Writing to our home-schooled group at church.
Our sweet pastor's wife and my mother-in-law have started a group that allows our home-schooled children to spend one day a week at the church in an environment with other children.
Did I mention that they get to go on field trips, too?
Uh...and that I get to go with them?
Yep.
It's a pretty nice set-up.
Anyway, this month we are focusing on Art and Creative Writing.
I am already looking to next Thursday when we dive into some fun creative writing with the kids.
Even though little Ashlyn wasn't able to participate in the writing class, she did decide to start cleaning.
I seriously love these kids.

As always, blogging remains one of my favorite things to do when I have some downtime, which is far and few between these days.
My husband and I have started yet another part-time job.
I'm definitely not complaining.
We have always enjoyed working together long before we even began dating.
I am very grateful we can always bond over teamwork.
I think it makes our marriage stronger.

Lately, I've been trying to write more about the of trials and triumphs I'm experiencing in my walk with God.
Some of the information I've been learning is too valuable to not pass on.
If you need an encouraging word today, don't forget that God holds your tomorrows in His hands.
And remember to thank Him for each day.
That's the first thing I try to do in the morning.
I utter a simple prayer.
'Thank you for another day.'
I think it really puts the difficult things in this life into perspective.

As always, thanks for sharing in my week!
Jessi
