I've never picked any type of fruit before.
And I've definitely never picked blueberries before.
When my husband suggested we go blueberry pickin', I was all for it.
Except for one minor detail: I injured my back.
See, my sister-in-law and I went to Blue Hole to float.
You float there.
It's a naturally (cold!) spring that runs through someone's property.
You drive to the middle of nowhere and pay $10 at the front gate.
Then you find a parking spot.
We bring our tubes, rafts, etc. and just float.
It's relaxing.
Between parking and floating, I managed to mess up my back.
I have no idea how it happened, but I was not a happy camper yesterday morning.
Blue Hole in Salina, OK |
I made good use of our heating pad before heading to Outback Farm to pick blueberries.
We washed our hands, grabbed our pails, and headed out to the blueberry bushes.
Yesterday was the perfect day to wander through the bushes in search of the perfect blueberry!
I didn't do much of anything besides wander behind Kelly.
I couldn't bend over.
I did pick a few blueberries.
But my sweet husband did most of the picking.
The farm was absolutely gorgeous.
I could live there.
Seriously.
It was so peaceful just standing out there enjoying the scenery.
I really enjoyed our time there.
We got a 1/2 gallon of blueberries for only $24!
So, naturally, dinner that night was 'blueberry' themed.
Blueberry dressing for our salad and blueberry chicken.
It was all good.
If you're in the Pryor area, I highly recommend checking out Outback Farm.
Blueberry picking was a lot of fun.
Did I mention you get to eat the blueberries while you pick?!
