Spontaneity is something that doesn't come easy to me.
I have to force myself to 'go with the flow'.
But the more I work on it, the easier it becomes.
So when I stopped by my husband's work and heard he was going to Ponca City on Monday,
I asked if I could tag along.
And so we got inside a brand new 2013 Ford Fusion and drove up towards the state border.
Facts about Ponca City, OK
1. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive from our small town.
2. It's located off the 177 if you're heading north.
We took the turnpike.
The drive was beautiful.
3. The first part of the town looks like you've stepped back into the 1960's.
There's old buildings, old cars, and old houses.
The second part looks much newer.
It's a quaint little town.
4. They have many gas stations.
Which is good if you're doing a dealer trade.
The view right before we entered the city.
One thing I love about my husband is that he lets me have complete control of the radio
when we're road tripping.
Personally, I think he's amazed that regardless of what station we're listening to,
I always sing along to the song playing.
We had Sirius radio in the Fusion and listened to a bunch of stations.
Everything from the 80's on 8 to The Highway.

Very old barn that sat near the highway.
My husband and I had a lot of fun.
Even after I lost the directions :)
I always enjoy seeing a different piece of the Oklahoma sky.
And I'm grateful for my willingness to step outside of my comfort zone
and just go with the flow.
