It's the eight installment.
That means I've been blogging this post for two months straight.
And it's been a blast!
I really do enjoy posting pictures that sum up my week.
It's a fun way to look back and see what I've been up to.
I've never been good at journal-ing.
Or even scrap-booking.
So, I'd like to think of My Week In Pictures as my own personal scrapbook journal.
Complete with tons of pictures, of course!
So...what have I been up to this week?
As always, so much!
I spent 11 days in Colorado with my grandparents.
It was a spur the moment type of thing.
Southwest Airlines had tickets on sale.
(If I can, I always fly Southwest.
Especially when going to Denver.
I'm comfortable with the way they do things.)
I booked my flight and then waited a month to leave for my adventure.
And an adventure it turned out to be!
On our way to the airport on Sunday morning, my grandpa says,
"You know, Jessica (he calls me Jessica; the rest of my family calls me Jessi),
we've had quite the adventure this trip.
A 747 almost dropped retardant on us and we drove through a hail storm."
All I could do was chuckle.
How right he was.
My sweet grandparents took me to a little coffee house in Florissant, Colorado to have lunch.
It's called the Costello Street Coffee House.
You find a spot to eat, order at the counter, and they bring it out to you!
I had a French dip and macaroni salad.
It was delish!
Did I mention the coffee was amazing?!
Because it was!
Smoke in the distance is the fire. |
On our way back, we were driving down the I-25 when a MASSIVE plane dropped
retardant right off the freeway.
I don't think my grandfather or I moved a muscle.
Our mouths dropped open and we froze.
It was one of the weirdest moments of my life.
Grandma yelled something from the backseat and snapped us out of our trance.
A few minutes later my grandfather said, "We should have gotten video of that!"
I couldn't have agreed more.
My grandmother's dog, Kiana, was my little pal in Colorado.
I know the way to her heart: belly rubs.
Fun fact: the whiskers on one side of her face are black; the other side are white.
Colt, my cousins' gorgeous Golden. |
My cousin's boys. |
I spent my Saturday afternoon in Elizabeth with my cousins and Colt, their puppy.
I love, love, love them!
It was very hard to say goodbye to them.
But I held in those tears.
It almost killed me.
Later that night, my aunt and uncle came over to say goodbye.
I snapped this pic of the clouds as Uncle Bob, Grandma and I were walking at the end of the street.
I may love Oklahoma sunsets; but I adore Colorado thunderheads.
This is the Village Inn's chocolate peanut butter cup pie.
It's amazing.
Simply amazing.
My uncle showed us some of his old rollerblading moves from back in the day.
We laughed hysterically.
I really do love my family.
And now that I'm older, I can truly appreciate all they've done for me over the years.
I wouldn't be half the person I am without them.
My dog wasn't too happy with me when I returned home.
He spent a lot of time just laying in the corner, avoiding my gaze.
He's come around though.
Love this cutie! |
I just had to lay next to him on the bed while he napped in the afternoon.
Once he woke up, we were bff's again.
I will never understand this dog.
Never.
The rest of my week was devoted to Vacation Bible School.
It was so much fun.
It's hard work, but the work is always rewarding.
More on VBS to come in a later post.
This is my week in pictures.
And what a week it has been!
