Branson Vacation!

Well, we left our fur-baby behind and headed to Branson, Missouri for a few days this week!
It's the first vacation my husband and I have gone on since our honeymoon over 2 years ago.
So, we decided to call it our Vacation/Anniversary Trip.

So, Branson is about three hours from us.
We jumped into our trusty Lincoln and left the house very early.
On the way, we passed through Joplin.
I did not see the areas damaged by the tornadoes.
My husband has been through there many times.
I have not.
Anyway, we saw the new hospital being built.
It's huge!
This picture really doesn't do it justice.

The main reason we decided to vacay in Branson is because of Silver Dollar City.
It's my husband's favorite theme park.
And he bought season passes.
Listen, I'm not a roller coaster person.
I absolutely hate them.
But because I love my husband so much, I rode four rides.
That's right four
If that isn't true love, I don't know what is.

The food in Branson was amazing.
We ate at Red Lobster the first night.
Hey, we don't have one around here!
It was so good.
And not as expensive as I thought it was going to be.
The next morning we shared a cinnamon roll at Silver Dollar City.
We also ate lunch in the park.
I tried catfish for the first time.
It was pretty good!
That night we ate dinner at Florentina's.
The food was amazing.
The service was fast and efficient.
And everyone was having a good time at their respective tables.
It was a great environment.
We are definitely going back the next time we're there.

We stayed at the Seven Gables Inn, which is only a short drive to Silver Dollar City.
The price was great!
The owner was wonderful!
She was very friendly and helpful.
And she was always singing or greeting people by name.
Did I mention that the continental breakfast had like 20 items on it?
Oatmeal, casseroles, eggs, waffles, toast, cereal, donuts, etc.!
Our experience there was really good.

On our last night in Branson, my handsome husband took me miniature golfing.
Our first sort of date (when we were still just friends)--nearly 6 years ago--took place at a mini-golf course.
So, we always joke that our first date was miniature golfing.

We had so much fun!
My husband took a picture of me at every hole.
Most of them turned out pretty bad.
But we did manage to take one together.

I really enjoyed re-creating our first date.
We laughed the whole time.
And, of course, competed.
Did I mention that I'm pretty good at mini-golf?

But in the end, Kelly won.
Just like on our first date.
I sure gave him a run for his money though!

It was really good to get away with my hubby.
Even if it was only for a few days.
But we have another trip coming up soon that we're already preparing for.
We live such busy lives that it's hard to get away for longer than a few days at a time.
I'm just grateful for all the time we do get to spend with each other under different pieces of sky.
