My Week in Pictures: The First Installment

I love my Android cell phone. It's an HTC Inspire.
But soon it will need to be replaced because it's getting old and glitch-y.
It makes me sad because this cell phone seriously has one the best cameras I've ever used!
It's even better than my digital camera (which has been retired to the bottom drawer of my desk because my cell phone obviously takes better pics).

As I was flipping through my pictures this afternoon, something I do every Friday to reflect back on my week, I decided to start a weekly blog post entitled "My Week in Pictures." There's just so many great pictures to share with all of you. They're mostly of my dog, but he is quite the handsome little guy, if I do say so myself.

Niko and I get up at the crack of dawn. He goes outside and "inspects" the yard.
I grab a cup of coffee, then we cuddle on the couch before Daddy gets up.
(Note: this image is blurry because I didn't have my flash on and it was still dark out when we got up. Don't blame the awesome cell phone camera; blame the bad photographer.)

This flower literally popped up overnight! We had beautiful weather--mid-80's--at the beginning of the week and my flowers went cray cray!

My petunias. Yes, that is a gnome. Yes, I have a small obsession with cute, little gnomes. Don't ask, I'm totally weird. I told my husband that I wanted a gnome to put in our front yard. So, last year, he found me the smallest one ever! As he said, "It was the only one in our budget. Don't you know how expensive gnomes are?" Anyway, this is my gnome, who lives in my petunias. And I think he's quite cute. Oh, and he will welcome you to our house if you stop by ;)

I just love this face. Here's another early morning shot. Niko is really the only reason I get up early. I love spending time with him when he's not quite awake and rambunctious yet.

I have decided Marigolds are one of my top 5 favorite flowers. They're just so bright and cheery. And they complement my pink pot very nicely.

This gorgeous field is down the street from me and I make sure to walk by it every day on my walk. And if I ever get the chance, I will build a house right in the middle of it. It's beautiful covered in snow. It's beautiful decorated in fall colors. And it's beautiful in spring. It's the perfect spot for my future house.

Niko goes to dog training class every Tuesday night. Because I work Tuesday evenings at the school where his training is at, Auntie Ruthanne accompanies Daddy and Niko on the 25 minute drive. The first night of class, Niko escaped and ran away! My husband chased the escape artist through trees and brush to catch him. Now, he enjoys laying down and watching the other dogs take their turn with the trainer instead of trying to escape.
Proud Mama Moment: The trainer told the whole class Niko was the most improved out of the bunch.

My mom and I planted some new plants this week. Tomatoes, romaine lettuce, celery, and green onions. I always enjoy working with my mom. We work well together because I'm bossy and she's easy-going. We make the perfect team :)

Since the weather was so warm at the beginning of the week, Niko went on extra-long walks. In the winter, we only walk him for 45-minutes a day. Now that Spring is here, he gets to go much further. Our walks are about an hour and twenty minutes now. He wasn't, however, too happy when the weather turned cold (I'm talking 30's!) on Thursday. He's back to his 45-minute walks until it warms up again.

This is The. Biggest. Burrito. Ever.
My husband and I went to Maggie's (a local Mexican restaurant) and this is the HUGE burrito he orders every time. I ordered enchiladas. But what I really wanted was their delicious chicken quesadilla. My husband warned me, like he does every time. "Don't try something new. You never like it as much as your usual." But, like always, I try something new and never like it as much as my usual. Anyway, just to give you an idea of how BIG this burrito is, that's my husband's cell phone in the top left corner. This thing is HUGE. And he couldn't finish it all.

We like to chill in the grass together. It's what we do when we're tired after our long walks.

My mom and I went to Orscheln's this week to get Niko some flea medicine. While there, we had to stop and enjoy the cute chickens. We almost brought one home, but then realized Niko probably wouldn't like it very much.

Well, this is my first installment of My Week in Pictures. Hope you enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed taking them!
Until next time,
Jessica

  1. My problem is...I would mess up taking a picture of a concrete block...honestly. I do love viewing God's creation as captured through the camera of others and you have done that quite well. I have added myself to follow your blog. You are more than welcome to visit my blog and become a follower as well.
