This week has been CRAZY!
But the good kind of crazy. The kind that makes me so grateful for this life.
Somehow, through all the craziness, I remembered to take pictures to share.
Sunday, we started our day at church.
Our Pastor gave a sermon on David called "Shaping the Next Generation."
It was thought-provoking and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
After such a great message, we went to El Humilde's (another local Mexican restaurant) for lunch.
It was Cinco de Mayo, after all.
My sister-in-law's birthday was on the 6th, so she got to wear a sombrero.
And then we ate Sopapillas.
On Monday, I had some downtime and decided to give myself a French manicure.
This was my first try "free-handing" it.
Didn't think it would turn out this well, but I was pleasantly pleased with my
mad nail-painting skills.
I snapped this picture Tuesday on our walk.
It is now my screen saver.
This view is just so serene and calm.
This street also happens to be Niko's favorite street to walk down.
Personally, I think he just enjoys 'marking his territory' on all the brick mailboxes.
He has this weird obsession with bricks.
But he also enjoys taking a water break here and watching for wildlife (aka deers).
That evening, Niko had his Good Citizen evaluation at dog training.
The first night of class I was pretty sure he wouldn't make it far.
Seven weeks later, he passed with flying colors!
Our dog trainer is a true miracle-worker. Seriously.
I sent a request for his certificate out this morning and, until we get it,
I have this nice piece of paper to stare at.
I am one proud Si momma!
Here is a picture of the dogs before their evaluations.
I was talking to my sister-in-law when I took this picture and didn't
realize you could barely see the dogs because of the shade. I can't do two things at once.
Especially when one of those things is talking.
All the dogs passed their evaluation.
I am really going to miss them.
O.K. that's not entirely true.
Maybe there's one dog I'm not going to miss.
There's always one, right?
Wednesday my mommy and I drove 45-minutes up to Owasso to grocery shop.
We did not expect storm clouds or rain.
But we ended up with both.
Why do you drive 45-minutes to grocery shop you may ask?
Because I can't pass up the prices!
And I also enjoy the long drive.
Didn't you know I'm a road tripping kind of gal?!
The only thing I regret is not stopping by Starbucks on the way home.
Oh, well. There's always next time!
After church on Wednesday, over snow cones and Ring Pops
at Bob's Snow Shack, we discussed the Zombie Apocalypse with our pastor until
we noticed huge flames roaring into the sky.
We jumped into our car and raced two blocks to check out the fire.
Well, we attempted to race.
We had four or five stop signs to contend with, so we didn't go that fast.
Somehow, someone's backyard had caught fire.
In a matter of seconds, the entire sky was glowing yellow.
Anything in the path of those flames was disintegrated.
And it made me realize that everything we have here is truly only temporary.
In the wise words of our pastor, "you leave it here when you're done."
To end this post on a more positive--less depressing--note, here are a few
images I really love.
Kitty, our neighbor's cat, lounging in the afternoon sun.
My bloomed Iris.
It's gorgeous!
This post is a little early this week because I will be too
busy to post the next two days.
But more on that later.
Until next time,
Jessica
